WOW. Is it really over?

Yep, it is. For three weeks, the cast and crew of The Deaf Family have been here in Austin. Now, today - everyone’s already leaving back to their hometowns or “gig” towns.

Last night was the wrap party hosted at Paul and Avonne Rutowski’s home. We were greeted with a big buffet of TEXAS style BBQ, and believe me - I ate alot of it. We all enjoyed each others company, swam in their pool, played some sports (soccer and basketball), watched slideshows, and had some haircuts done by Philip.

Right now, the cottage where we’ve been staying on campus is looking bare. I fly out of Austin at 5pm and when I return home, I promise to post photos from Day 20 and a few from the wrap party (I was busy partying, ok?) :-)

Thank you again for all your support and viewership. I will be blogging about updates as the movie proceeds throughout it’s release dates and give y’all some updates on different people on the team.

‘Till then!

Whew! There were just so many photos to choose from. Enjoy this part two album of the events that went on this recent Sunday.

Yesterday was our last day of filming! The mood was overall good - a bit of sadness, a bit of excitement, a bit of this and that. Me, I posted on my status via facebook that I was depressed but excited. I’m depressed because it’s all coming to an end and I’ll be separated from my “new family” yet I’m so excited for the final edited movie to come out for all of y’all to see. I really have high hopes for this sitcom style movie. It’s amazing what Mosdeux can pull off (and everyone who knows me, I’m honest….. even if they’re paying me to work for them on this blog!)

The set is being torn down right now. The props are being put up. Half of the crew is at the gym, half here. Some are catching catnaps, some are sitting around pondering thoughts, and some are staying busy cleaning up. That reminds me, I need to pack.

Yeah, the end is here BUT we still have a wrap party to loosen up at tonight! I’m looking forward to it.

Y’all - thanks for following our adventure through our blogsite. I will resume blogging once I’m at home to keep y’all posted with updates.

Keep your eyes out posted for more family photo blogs, more trailers, and more photo albums.

And the families keep a coming!

Someone asked me, “what’s the purpose of you posting the family photos?”

There’s no reason really. Just thought it’d be a fun activity for all of us to partake on. Do you see any differences between the “deaf” and “hearing” family portraits? Is it obvious? Do hearing portraits look more tense? Or Deaf? Or perhaps do the deaf portraits look awkward because having a hearing photographer do them….. blah blah…..

Discussion could be endless on this topic, eh?

Send more photos! I’m up for many more uploads!

I guess it was kind of a good thing I’d been away in Alabama for two days - I took a record of 1,600 + photos yesterday! My energy was low, but my creativity was high ;-)

More to come!

Julia Dameron is in town from Los Angeles! She arrived on Saturday to help out on set for the last few days. What hasn’t been mentioned was that she’d been assisting Lizzie as the 2nd Assistant Director all this time - thanks so much to her for doing this! She had first hand experience working with us on the previous movie, A Permanent Grave - so it was nice having a Mosdeux family member back!

Here’s two photos of her snapped by Adam Betts in Los Angeles last week!

Today’s the last day of filming. It just feels so weird. I feel “down” already because Max left this morning. It was so great seeing his brilliant work. We’ll miss him and are sad he wasn’t able to stay until the Wrap Party!

Media Day is today - news, newspapers, and all that kind of thing are coming around noon.

‘Till then!

I’m baaaaaaaaack in town. I feel “home” - it was weird being separated from the Mosdeux gang for the last two days knowing the production was still in action.

I have a fantastic new album from last Thursday to tide y’all by until I get all caught up with photos taken by several individuals from when I wasn’t here. Thank goodness people love taking photos - it’s such a fantastic thing to enjoy.

Hey y’all, I’m in Gulf Shores, Alabama now for a wedding I have to shoot tomorrow morning. I feel so “lost” without my The Deaf Family gang!

Luckily, I have these two unedited takes to cheer me up! I’ll be flying back into Austin around noon on Sunday to join my second family once again.

Two separate takes :

The end of the movie is coming soon. We wrap up on Tuesday evening (already?!?!?!?) This morning they took down one of the walls for some adventurous filming techniques, and Sean Berdy sent me a few SK photo’s of it.

I look forward to being back with them!

Tuesday just overwhelmed me with too many photo opportunities!

Here’s the second part of the Day 14 album! Enjoy, my friends.
