Bill Nye, a deaf historian here in Maine, joined with us on the set. He carries with years and years of collected humor which is a nice thing to have among the cast and crew. In addition to the humor, Max would, without warning, entertain us with his mime talents which never fails to send the entire set laughing.

It’s funny how we look back to the production of The Deaf Family, we were filming in the gym and it was really hot and humid. Here in Maine, we’re not fighting the heat but the cold but at least we can control it by putting layers and layers of clothing on.

Check out Kurt’s mouth-watering pictures.

We are indeed fortunate to have Kurt Ramborger and Kye Sangha as our chefs. They have not ceased to amaze us with their gourmet foods. Everyday at breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert, we are sent to heaven.

The weather here in Maine is very cold. Some of us had to head to L.L. Bean to shop for warm clothes such as jackets, sweater, hat and mitts. The L.L. Bean headquarter is based out here in Portland and is open 24 hours a day.

Trying our best not to be tranquilized by Maine’s autumn beauty, we all started some b-rolls around the island and getting settled into our production office.

The people at Governor Baxter School of the Deaf are unbelievably very friendly and generous. This is true for anywhere we go around here in Portland and Falmouth. Their friendliness does make a world of difference for this production.

The island where we are shooting is sure full with cinematic values. The house of Governor Baxter is still on this island and has become a historical landmark. President Bush has slept in this house and we will be shooting in that house as well. We were told that some people would feel as if they’re being watched when they’re in or around the house.

Halloween is just around the corner and the spooky stories just make it a true experience for us all.

Cast and crew arrived into Portland, Maine and were greeted by their autumn’s crisp. The smell of fallen leaves with the sight of earthly colored trees left us with high spirits especially when the story of The Caretaker is written for this time of the year. It couldn’t be a better time.

Everybody were all geared up and busy getting ready for the production. There were cold readings with the actors.

Many thanks to the never-ending generosity of Roxanne Baker for making this production possible.

Maine

Our third feature will be shot on Mackworth Island in Maine at the institution of Governor Baxter School of the Deaf. DJ Kurs, our writer, has feverishly and worked hard to put this masterpiece together that will be naturally nostalgic for everybody who views the film.

Our cast and crew will get together at the end of October, just in time to introduce the spooky nature of the film where autumn leaves will be blowing around on the ground.

To continue our Mosdeux tradition, we will bring you pictures and blogs of our production.

(we have job positions if you, or know of anybody, would like to partake in the Mosdeux family)
